Battleship Number Knockout

Here is the pdf for the Battleship Boards. To create your own battleship board, you need:

  • 2 file folders
  • 2 copies of the Battleship Boards printed off
  • 4 page protectors*
  • Stapler and staples

*You can laminate instead of using page protectors.

Instructions:

  1. Place the printed battleship boards in page protectors or laminate them.
  2. Staple the board with a bullseye watermark on the left inside of the folder, so that the top of the board lines up with the left outer edge of the file.
  3. Staple the board with the ships on the inside right side of the file folder so that the top of the board lines up with the inside crease of the file folder.

How to Play (2 Person Game)

Items Needed:

  • 3 Dice
  • 2 Battleship Board Folders
  • Dry Erase Markers

Instructions

  1. Have each player take one file folder board and hold it as though it was a laptop, with the board with a bullseye water mark is upright and the board with the ships is flat on the table.
  2. Roll the dice and check the dice numbers against the Number Knockout Calculator to make sure that most of the numbers on the board can be knocked off. If most of the numbers on the board cannot be knocked off using the dice numbers, re-roll the dice.
  3. Each player writes the numbers from the dice on their board.
  4. Each player circles numbers to represent their three different ships (Submarine, Battleship, Aircraft Carrier).
  5. Players take turns calling out equations to knock off numbers in an attempt to sink opponents ships. Equations must use all three numbers from the dice and follow order of operations. Any exponent may be applied.
  6. Players can use the top board to track their opponents ships by marking misses and hits.
