An Exciting Summer Opportunity

Hello everyone!

As our family makes summer plans to road trip, we came across an exciting opportunity that we thought others may want to know about. The Creation Evidence Museum in Glen Rose, Texas is hosting a dinosaur excavation digging experience for homeschool families!!!

You can see more details here:

Although those dates don’t work for us, we are considering being a part of the dates open to the public at the end of June to early July. You can see that info under the “Dino Digs” section and click on “Excavations Page”.

Summer Practicum Day 1 Registration is Open!

“Day 1” Area Practicum registration is open. This event is happening in Chippewa Falls, June 5th. Practicum events are FREE! Attending my first Practicum before starting to homeschool is when I knew this is what I wanted for my kids and began my search for a community!

Here is the registration link for Day 1:

Practicum looks a bit different this year! CC listened to our feedback and reformatted Practicum into 3 individual day events! This solves many of the overwhelming aspects of planning Practicums such as kids’ camps/childcare are now optional, a one-day commitment versus 3 consecutive days, and tutors don’t have to miss the rich afternoon content that would happen in large group while tutors attended academic orientation!

“Day 1” Area Practicum will include diving into the classical model through the lens of the theme “The Art of Grammar- Attending to the Essentials.” For those who have attended in previous years, this content is what we would cover in the morning sessions of the 3-day Practicums consolidated into one day. This is a great event for all, whether someone has been homeschooling for 25 years to those looking into homeschooling for the first time. Childcare will not be provided.

“Day 2” Local Practicum will be happening in Rice Lake along with Ladysmith, Jim Falls and Hayward communities joining us. This will be a hands-on day of conversation and practical tools regarding the ways we learn/utilize the classical model. For those who’ve attended previous years, this content is what would have been covered in the afternoon exercises of the 3-Day Practicums now consolidated into one day.

“Day 3” Academic Training will be hosted in Saint Croix Falls and possibly one in Rice Lake. This is a required training for Tutors and Directors. This is the equivalent of our tutor academic orientation that previously happened in the afternoons during a 3-day Practicum now consolidated into one day. Tutors, more info on this to come. 🙂

Here is a short clip from parents who’ve attended:
